No title from Veriquilt

"No title"
 Jag blev naturligtvis mycket glad och stolt när jag fick veta att min "No title" fanns med bland de 24 verk som valts ut av juryn att ingå i SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) första virtuella utställning No Limits. Det var 186 inskickade bidrag och juryn har endast haft fotografier att gå efter så jag tar det som lite extra beröm att jag lyckats med fotograferingen. Tavlan mäter 30 x 30 cm och är monterad på canvas. Bakgrunden är monoprint med akryl på Gelliplate och sedan är porträttet inkjettryck på silkefiber och ett tunt linnetyg. Maskinkviltat och lite ...

Textila bilder from Veriquilt

Jag fortsätter i lagom (långsam) takt att sy textila bilder, 11 x 13 cm. Häromdagen målade jag på Tyvek och smälte små bitar som jag skall dekorera bilderna med. Jag har testat vid ett tidigare tillfälle men blev inte så nöjd med färgerna, de blev så matta. Jag minns inte vad jag använde för färg den gången men nu gjorde jag ett nytt försök och använde Pebeo Setacolor Opaque och jag blev mycket nöjd med lystern. Bilden visar fyra småbitar som jag lagt samman.

I did the last four pieces of the SAQA 100 day challenge and then spent a long time arranging and rearranging the squares before finally sewing them together.

Inspiration in everything! from Creating Chaos

I'm often asked what inspires my work.  Well, how long have you got?

There really isn't an easy answer to this as I'm inspired by so many things.  Sometimes I get so much inspiration from one thing that it leads to a series of work.  This was so when I began to see rusty objects over and over again and the more I saw, the more I noticed rust in many other places.   This overload of inspiration lead to two series - Corrosion, which was inspired by the rust itself, and Oxidisation, which used fabric and threads dyed ...
